The websites I’ve developed so far have all been created and developed using PHP in Netbeans, all with a development version on my local computer as well as the public site on the remote server.   I have used HostSo for all the sites.   Those involving database access use mysql.   In some cases the mysql databases are synchronised with MS Access databases because the latter was used for desktop applications developed using C# in MS Visual Studio Express edition.

www.rpra.davelbro.co.uk:   This is a new site I am developing for the Residents Association where I live.   This, and my personal website, are the main candidates for a WordPress version.

www.sdwsa.co.uk:   The SDWSA (Sheffield & District Works & Sports Association) was considering discontinuing its website because of the annual cost of maintaining it.   Being on the management committee, I offered to create an equivalent site and maintain it free of charge, so that the association only paid for hosting and domain registration.   Initially I built the site using the images from the HTML of the original site with my own PHP and HTML code, setting it up in a sub-domain of my own site.   Later it was set up on its own site.

www.sdwsasnooker.co.uk:   This was my first website.   The SDWSA has different sports sections and I have been involved with the Snooker Section for many years.   I moved out of Sheffield in 2007 to the north-eastern corner of South Yorkshire, about 30 miles away, which made attendance at meetings more difficult and communication with team captains.   Scorecards were sent to me after each match and I used to enter them in a C# desktop application which I had developed.   The website was developed so that the team captains could enter the scores and see the effect immediately in the League Table.   The site includes the handicapping records for every player, which the system itself controls, making changes according to a player’s results.   This site has a comprehensive CSS file and uses a small amount of Javascript.

www.davelbro.co.uk:   This is my personal site (this WordPress experiment is in a sub-domain of that site) which I have recently started developing.
